Los Angeles Contemporary Archive and Colpa Press are pleased to present a curving wave that never breaks, a group of works by Ignacio Perez Meruane with an accompanying publication and artist’s edition. Both the exhibition and publication serve as a continuation of Perez Meruane’s 2015 project circuitos at Galería Tajamar in Santiago, Chile, exploring the history of the country’s copper mining industry.    The accompanying publication and artist edition will be presented at the opening reception, followed by a talk between Perez Meruane and David Kasprzak of Colpa Press at the LA Art Book Fair at noon on Saturday Feb. 25th in The Classroom.

Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair 2016 saw over 35,000 visitors over the course of three and a half days.      Printed Matter’s LA ART BOOK FAIR is the companion fair to Printed Matter’s NY ART BOOK FAIR, held every fall in New York. In September 2016, over 39,000 artists, book buyers, collectors, dealers, curators, independent publishers, and enthusiasts attended Printed Matter’s NY ART BOOK FAIR.

You’re invited to a free workshop to work with artist Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle on re-mixing and re-imagining personal objects via storytelling and collage and through conversations about geography, memory, erasure and gentrification.

Please bring objects, pictures, and stories from your life to discuss, re-mix, and re-imagine.


Kenyatta A.C Hinkle is the Artist Lab Resident in the 18th Street Main Gallery during January-March. The project involves developing collaborative research and an educational archive for a contested place called Kentifrica.

February 25, 2017:  Enjoy a pop up exhibition at GIBSON BRANDS SUNSET. “Anesthesia: The Art of Oblivion” features the works of Billy Morrison & Plastic Jesus. Since it closed in 2006, the Tower Records storefront on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip has sat dormant, only being restored to a shade of its former glory last year by Gibson Brands Inc.
