ART PARTIES and ART EVENTS IN L.A. for 2017 – [WEEK 17-24] * Jun 12 – Jun 18 * June2017-Week3

At first it looked like a strange “no action week” at each of the three major gallery centers of Bergamot Station, Culver City and Downtown LA, just after a week of simultaneous events making simultaneous attendance materially impossible… This showed the regrettable lack of coordination in organizing events that characterizes the LA Art World, which is detrimental to all stakeholders, and ought to change! But in the end, there is actually quite some action both in Santa Monica and in the Culver City area, it was just badly announced, as is often the case. *That* ought to change!

25th annual Pasadena Chalk Festival: Every Father’s Day weekend, more than 600 artists create temporary masterpieces in chalk on the streets of Pasadena at the Paseo Colorado shopping center.
During this street painting festival —the largest in the world— 100,000 onlookers will have to watch where they walk… Live music on the main stage all day long. Sunday from 10am-3pm a Police Classic Car Show will be on view as well.
Beverly Hills: Let’s mention here in passing, if cars are your thing, and Pasadena is too far to your taste, that also on Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 10am to 4 pm, the Rodeo Drive Committee in conjunction with the city of Beverly Hills, presents the annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance. A Father’s Day tradition for over 20 years, the annual Rodeo Drive Car Show is free and open to the public on the 400 block Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
Here is a preview link for next week, plus all the links for the whole month of June 2017, allowing you easy access to all on-going exhibitions, at a glance :
Click the following buttons to access other useful internal links:
Further, here are links to access the Gateway Pages for cutting-edge material on various more technical subjects: Investing in Art – Why and How, or “Art Invest” [in construction]; LA Art Residencies or “LA Art Reside” [in construction]; 3D Printing – A general Introduction with the Art Community in mind, or “3DP Intro”; 3D Printing and Art, or “3DP Art”; Geopolymers Introduction, or “GeoPol Intro”; GeoPolymers and Art, or “GeoPol Art”. Please notice that these two last subjects tend to overlap somewhat, at least how we see it, and should preferably be looked at jointly at the same time:
We have quite some material pertaining to all this which slowly accumulated over the years, mostly original material which we have decided to share. However, editing the whole for consistency, and building up the corresponding pages will take a little bit of time. Further Gateway Pages on other cutting-edge subjects are contemplated. For example a page currently contemplated but not yet really worked on is “VR ART”, that is, “ART and VIRTUAL REALITY”.
